Welcome Home Matt

Yesterday I got a phone call from Matt telling me to be at the airport at 5pm to...pick him up! His deployment to Iraq has been delayed because he has been experiencing some internal bleeding and acid reflux problems (same issues he has been dealing with for the past 10 years). While the Navy is figuring what to do with him and waiting for his medical issues to clear up, he has been sent to San Diego. Since he has nothing to do in San Diego, they gave him three weeks leave. I didn't tell Makaela at first, but on the way to the airport, I filled her in and she was so excited. She picked out a blue and yellow lei for him and told the lady at the lei stand she was "picking up daddy". When we got him, she made him sit in the back seat with him and then hugged him all through dinner. It is so nice to have him home for the time being.
