Halloween 2013

We love dressing up as a family theme (okay, that is actually me who loves it) so when Makaela decided to dress up as a wolf this year, we all followed suit.  Mia was a darling Little Red Riding Hood, who hated wearing her hood, I was the grandmother and Matt was the woodsman.  Poor Madi didn't exactly fit in, but we still had a 3 month outfit that we hadn't gotten to use yet so she went as Cinderella.
Our friends the Larsens went as the Tangled cast so at least we are not the only themed family.

All the N Cappero kids.
We had a lot of fun walking around.  Makaela walked far ahead with all her friends and I got a glimpse of what having a preteen/teenage daughter would be like.  Speaking of, a bunch of my middle school students found me and tagged along for a while.  They were enamored with Mia and Madi.

She had a great night.

Halloween 2013

I love organizing our Halloween costumes, but this year, Makaela threw us for a loop.  A neighbor gave her a female wolf costume.  I scrambled to find costumes to coordinate us all and Little Red Riding Hood popped into my head.  Makaela would be the wolf, Mia was Little Red Riding Hood, I would be the grandmother and Matt, the woodcutter.  We had a problem trying to fit Madi into our scheme, but we had a 3 month old Cinderella costume and we thought we would get some use out of it.  We had a great night walking Cappero Dr with the kids and hanging out with all our neighbors.
Crazy that at almost 10 months, the 3 month old outfit fit wonderfully

It's a little difficult to get family pictures where everyone looks forward and smiles

We weren't the only themed family: Gothel, Rapunzel and Flynn Rider

Most of our N Cappero kids

My students loved my white hair

Madi got to stay up late, but had a great time.

Madi is 10 months!

Our beautiful baby has made it to the double digits and I can't believe she is growing up so fast. She is scouting all over the place and I can't believe those skinny little legs move so quickly.  She is blowing kisses to everyone and is just a joy.  She is phasing out of nursing because she is always on the go and can't make it through a feeding because she is worried she will miss something.  She started preschool and the teachers just love her.  She is still a tiny baby and is weighed 17.1 lbs at her 10 month weigh in which is 7% percentile for her weight.  The monkey is still in 3-6 month clothes. It is letting me have a bit more baby time though.
It is ridiculously difficult to get her to keep these stickers on.

Adult Halloween Party

Every year our friends, the Boyers, who live in the neighborhood throw an insane Halloween party.  It seems like half the neighborhood shows up. They have waitresses, bartenders, decorations and of course, a theme.  Last year was the Gladiator theme (Roman goddess outfits, togas, gladiators, etc) but I was pregnant and decided not to go. This was my first party and I now know why Matt was raving about it.  This year the theme was Superheros.  The Larsens and Matt and I had a great time organizing our outfits.  I loved the 50 Shades of Grey outfit- I guess he could be considered a superhero to some readers ;-)
