Mini Hawaii Reunion in Waynesboro

We drove from Breezy to PA while the kids slept and arrived in PA around 1am.  The kids were so excited to wake up and find the Staffaronis!  Not to mention, we just left NY and found ourselves in a gorgeous rural setting. Heidi's parents offered to let us converge at their house and it was a perfect setting.  The first day I had to catch up on work from University of Phoenix and I took a job interview over the phone, but I was able to get my busy work done before the Weidas arrived that afternoon.  Madi surprised us all by rolling over for the first time too!
So great to see the older ones together again and have them meet the new arrivals.

Heidi made them all superhero capes- so creative!

Our little super kids- Love Kenzie's face in this one

We went out to a local eatery for philly subs and ice cream. They were able to feed deer there as well.
After dinner we came home and we postponed bedtime so the kids could catch fireflies.  My girls have never seen fireflies before- we didn't have them in HI, our NY trips have occurred during the winter so no fireflies there and oddly, there are no fireflies in Florida.  They had a ball.  Brooke and Kenzie have become master firefly catchers during their month long trip to the East coast.
The next morning, Uncle Brian became a horsie for them.

The fireflies somehow escaped their cages overnight...hmmm, I wonder how that happened

Plenty of ways to keep these kids sweet
The kids made themselves busy throughout the day. At one point, we looked over to see Jackson reading to Makenzie while she nursed her Strawberry Shortcake.  They look like a little married couple.  I guess she got her lead from the older two.  We had a whole bunch of nursing little mamas. They take pretend play to new levels.

The second night we had a lot of Hawaii friends come visit: The Shelley's, Michelle and Melissa.  What a fun reunion- lots of great food, fun drinks, lively conversation and some wonderful news...
I really do love country sunsets

Trying to capture the sunset behind us, but it wasn't too successful.
I had to snap this shot.  Mia is so much like her daddy, even while she sleeps.

Little Allie and Madi- below is Makenzie and Mia like this when they were babies.

The mamas and the newest babies
It was such a great time.  We need to make this an annual occurrence. It was so great catching up with friends, watching the olders kids play together, the middle kids learn to become friends again and meeting the newest babies.

Breezy Point

Since I can remember, my family has had  a cabana down at the Breezy Point Surf Club.  The last time I was down here, Makaela was a baby and I was pregnant with Mia.  Matt had never been and he had heard so many stories of Breezy, I needed to get him there.  Unfortunately, it wasn't a weekend when the softball games are going on and the parties are in full tilt, but he got the idea.  It was crazy seeing Breezy again because much of it burned down or was destroyed in Hurricane Sandy.  The reconstruction was amazing.  I had always said I would love to move here- it's still NY (with all the attitude and culture of NY), but it's a very tight beach community with one grocery store, beachy sidewalks, a very active patriotic Irish Catholic community. From one side of Breezy you get inlet views of NYC skyline and the other side is Atlantic Ocean.

The cabanas are all styled differently- it's amazing what people can do with 250-300 square feet.  Ours has a mini kitchen, shower/changing area, back deck and a mini living room

NY Chuck E Cheese Visit

One of our NY traditions is to go to Chuck E Cheese. The girls don't realize we have one in Jacksonville and I'm not about to tell them.  This was the first year Mia was old enough to play and really enjoy it.  We have over a 100 pictures of her "amazed" face- it was a treat just to watch her.  She really loved dancing with the Chuck E Cheese mascot.

There was some fierce competition going on here

And of course I snuck away for some games

Every year we get a picture of Makaela with Chuck E.

Makaela got some mustaches with her tickets- ever the fashionista
