Orlando

Because we are basically homeless, we decided to take a trip to Disney while we wait to close on the house and for our household goods to arrive. My aunt Donna, Uncle Gerald and brother Joe came down to meet us. We stayed in a timeshare near the parks, but the resort was gorgeous. We were on the sixth floor so we had sweeping views of the golf courses (Matt was happy). It also had countless pools, a lazy river water park in the middle of the resort, toddler areas, water slides, water springs, you name it, they had it. While it was pretty cold that week, there were two days we got to hit up the pool and lazy river and the girls loved it.

One day Makaela was watching some girls doing cheerleading moves in the pool, so she asked Uncle Joe to help her out. They were about 20 ft from the girls, but Makaela was trying to watch them and copy them. The girls finally figured out what Makaela was doing and fell in love with her. They kept showing Makaela new poses and cheering Makaela on. Poor Joe, but at least it was a good workout.

I enjoyed taking walks with Mia around the resort to see the wildlife. There were wild turkies, egrets, ospreys, racoons and lots of squirrels (which is pretty cool after living in HI and never seeing these). Matt got a bit surprised when he went golfing and found an alligator on the greens. He was told "if it's under 5 feet, you go play the ball. Anything over 5, you lost your ball." Guess Matt has to get used to some of the wildlife too.(there is an alligator in the pond)
