Bye Bye Umbilical Cord

Mia's umbilical cord fell off today so we were finally able to bathe her. Unfortunately the hospital forgot to remove the clamp from her umbilical cord stump, so the poor girl went through the first 5 days of her life with a big clamp pressing into her belly until my mom decided to cut the clamp off herself. Thankfully she did it, because I was entirely too nervous to do it. However, the little stump that remained forced us to give Mia sponge baths but since she hates being cold, the sponge baths were pure torture. With the stump falling off today, we thought she might enjoy a real bath, but as you can tell by the picture, her first full bath was not as enjoyable as we hoped it would be.
